The story goes, one year while on tour Modest Mouse picked up an interesting character named Ugly Casanova. This gentleman toured with them and got close with the band. When the tour was over, he disappeared but left a notebook with songs written in them. Modest Mouse, in honor of this strange man, changed their name and produced an album under the name Ugly Casanova.
Needless to say this album didn’t get a whole lot of buzz with people who weren’t Modest Mouse fans, but with fans it took off. If you haven’t heard this album, you’re a little late, but you should check it out regardless.
